Random/other Facts:
–Tenacity is gaining true independence from the influences of Control and Quinlan. He has developed an independent personality which has changed him.
–Any time he refers to Simon Quinlan, he will call him “Quinlan”.
–He -hates- Control -and- Simon Quinlan, but acknowledges that his developing independent personality is due entirely to their influence in his coding.
*Tenacity has a couple of odd quirks, which are due in part to coding and to his new-found independence.
–His ‘restlessness’. ~~This has since been removed by Apathy~~
This -used- to be a very noticable quirk that would get him in a lot of trouble. When he began to get ‘restless’, that meant he’d gotten an itch to hurt someone. Either physically or by psychologically tormenting them. This was the result of Control and Quinlan’s influence on his original coding.
–Tenacity Sparks.
This phenomenon, when Tenacity begins to noticably spark bright crimson and amber and begins to speak very quickly, tends to occur when things are very hectic, stressed or important and his brain goes into a kind of superfast, supergenius mode, where any problem he might be presented with is easily solved. He comes off very aggressive, crazy and unpredictable and has been known to rip computer consoles apart, flinging parts everywhere, laugh manically and scare the hell out of people as he does whatever it is that needs to be done.
This has also happened when he’s extremely angry and focussed on revenge. This is something that began to occur once Control was dead, but has become more pronounced the more he has been able to achive independence. This is a trait that is exclusively Tenacity’s and never occured in any form with Control or Quinlan. It is not coding and cannot be removed.
–He loves to call Band, “Blondie” because he knows how much it annoys her.
He began by calling her “That blonde girl” while she was blackboxed and the nickname stuck. He actually likes Band very much because of her spunk and attitude and the fact that she’s never been afraid of him.
He only calls her “Michelle” when he needs to get her attention. Quinlan was aware of the Band Project and this is where Tenacity’s knowledge of her name comes from. He doesn’t mind being called ‘pretty boy’ as much as he appears to. But only Band is -allowed- to call him this.
–Wilson calls him “Simon”. No one else tends to call him this, except Eve and Sebastian. He has, for the most part, disassociated himself from the name. The only person he doesn’t mind calling him this is Wilson. Otherwise, calling him by this name will make him wince at the very least…
–Apathy calls him “Tenny”. No one else is -allowed- to call him this, -ever-. This nickname belongs exclusively to Apathy. Anyone else calling him this to his face will earn a glare and possibly more.
–His violin is The 1713 Gibson ex Huberman Stradivarius violin. This violin was found in a box marked “Music” in one of the storage vaults in the subbasement. What it was doing there is a mystery. This is the same violin owned by Joshua Bell in the early 21st Century. (This is an actual violin)
–He actually has a relatively decent singing voice. He doesn’t think it’s anywhere near as good as Apathy’s however.
–Tenacity loves stars. This is an entirely an emerging factor of Tenacity’s own independence, as neither Control nor Quinlan were at all interested in astronomy.
–His skill on the violin was programmed into him by Quinlan because he thought it would be amusing. Quinlan never could play an instrument.
–His ability to write music and poetry is part of his independence.
–He dearly loves his ‘family’ (The Darksiders) as well as Nina and MAC. He would do anything to protect them.
–Emotions and his Independence.
Tenacity’s independence was caused by several factors, but a significant one is the fact that up until a specific point, his emotional response programs had been significantly locked down. This had been done by Control to keep him from forming true attachments or becoming ‘weakened’ by his association with other sentient beings.
This was inadvertantly unlocked when the Programmer made some minor adjustments to his code in an effort to help him gain some semblance of morality and in so doing, decided to try to ‘make him nicer’ so to speak. He unlocked the entirety of the emotional response, which took some time to completely process. However, the result of this was Tenacity’s current ability to completely experience a full range of emotion. Positive and negative.
What this means essentially, is that if he loves you, he will love you with the full depth of his soul, but if he hates you or if you’ve caused harm to anyone he loves, you’d best be served to -never- encounter him.
He’s become a ‘violently passionate’ person, with all the heights and depths of such a thing.
