Atae are the ascended, immortal evolution of the Quelanil, corrupt, degenerate and twisted. They enjoy torturing their slaves and enemies and are quite depraved in general (think Jesby/Janassi/Melniboné)

The Quelanil are slaves to the Atae, who call them ‘Netherlings’. They are almost always obedient and subservient, primarily because they’re mortal and the Atae have ways of punishing them to cause endless torment.
Hair: Teal, with limited variation. Usually styled short or kept pulled up. Individual strands are thinner and finer, and hair feels like bunny fur to the touch.

Appearances: Tall and lean, unnaturally perfect posture, generally stiff, unblinking, displaying little to no personality…unless awake. No ears, but instead receptors on the tops of their head, almost like tiny metallic horns. Each Monoid has a glowing runic circle on their lower back, with a crystal at the center that serves as their eternal power source.
General alignment: True Neutral, unless awake; ranges from good to evil
Once a vast immortal workforce, an army of soldiers who never needed rest or food, laborers who built cities unceasingly, the Monoids were the product of technology and magic combined as one, a force labeled ‘alchemy’. But after a century, rumors of disobedience and even sentience led to fewer and fewer being produced and increased security measures. When tales of Monoids challenging authority and even rebellions breaking out surfaced, the race was wiped out in an event called The Cleansing. Those few who fled were hunted down, and the race has been long-thought extinct.
